Senior legal advisor, and university professor specialized in international maritime and development studies with over 22 years of teaching and administrative experience, research, and academic leadership, Prof. Abdi Adan Osman holds LLM in International Maritime law from International Maritime Law Institute (IMO-IMLI) in University of Malta campus and MsDS from Atlantic International University (AIU) in the US. His academic and research pursuits span Marine Scientific Research, Marine Environmental Conservation, prevention and protection, maritime security, the impact of drug smuggling, human trafficking, illegal immigration impact, concurrence of crimes, international human rights and criminal justice acheivement. A respected scholar and educator, Prof. Osman has contributed to the advancement of understanding of international maritime law UNCLOS), international shipping law, and international maritime trade law and liabilities. His work bridges comprehensive understanding and practical experience in enforcing various laws such as the land law, maritime law, property, law, law of banking, and other international legal frameworks and conventions, besides his full knowledge of advancing managing projects, strategies and policy drafting and development, legal or legislative drafting, establishment of multi-national companies and their management, his broader experience in his fields of expertise reflected in his provision in serving both public and private sectors. As a dedicated faculty member, he teaches various or diverse subjects of laws, i.e. maritime law, land law, law of contract, international laws, law of banking, law of property, legislative drafting, constitutional law, and others.
