Biography
Ms. Farhia Hassan Mohamed Dini is a lecturer and development economist with extensive experience in teaching and research, specialising in Statistics and Development Economics. Her academic and research work focuses on poverty alleviation, economic growth, applied econometrics, agricultural and climate economics, financial inclusion, and institutional development in fragile and post-conflict settings, with a particular emphasis on Somalia. She applies rigorous econometric techniques and statistical tools to examine issues related to development economics, human capital, agricultural development, and climate resilience. Ms. Farhia currently serves as the Head of Instructional and Program Design at SIMAD OLearn, where she leads the strategic design and development of digital courses and online academic programs. She also lectures in the Faculty of Economics at SIMAD University, teaching core undergraduate courses in statistics, econometrics, and development economics. She is widely respected for her role in curriculum innovation and mentorship, particularly among early-career researchers and young women in academia.
