Mr. Abdikafi Hassan Abdi is a development economist and researcher specializing in the intersection of trade, climate resilience, and economic development in Somalia and beyond. He has led and contributed to numerous research projects focusing on food security, displacement, renewable energy, and export diversification, with a particular emphasis on the sub-Saharan Africa. Mr. Abdikafi serves as the Head of Research at the Institute of Climate and Environment at SIMAD University, where he works to advance evidence-based policymaking through applied economic research and regional collaboration.

He earned his MSc in Economics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and holds a BSc in Economics from SIMAD University. He is widely published in high-impact journals and serves on editorial and advisory boards of academic and policy-oriented platforms. Beyond academia, he is actively involved in capacity-building initiatives and regional policy dialogues.
