Program Description

The Bachelor of Economics at SIMAD University is a rigorous undergraduate program that blends economic theory, quantitative analysis, and applied research to address real-world socio-economic challenges. The curriculum encompasses core areas, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, fiscal and monetary policy, international trade, development economics, and behavioural economics. Students gain analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate market dynamics, policy impacts, and global economic trends. Through empirical research, data modelling, and case studies, the program prepares graduates for careers in banking, public policy, international development, and corporate strategy. Emphasis is placed on evidence- based decision-making, critical thinking, and sustainable solutions to issues such as poverty, inequality, and unemployment in Somalia and beyond.

1. Provide a strong foundation in microeconomic and macroeconomic principles for analyzing individual,
organizational, and national economic behavior.

organizations, and research institutions.
