Biography

Mr. Mohamed Abdi Hassan is a specialist in Environmental Health and Environmental Science, currently serving as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, SIMAD University. With over four years of experience in teaching and research, he holds an MSc in Environmental Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). His areas of academic and research specialization include Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), environmental pollution, solid waste management, air quality management, and related fields. He is deeply committed to advancing environmental health education and sustainable development in Somalia and the region. He is currently serving as the Project Coordinator for the development of Somalia’s first National Air Quality Management Policy, where he leads multi-stakeholder efforts to build a national framework for managing air pollution and promoting cleaner air.
